This Privacy Policy explains what data paper2md.com ("we") collects, how it is used, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: email address and login identity, managed by our authentication provider Clerk. Documents: PDFs you upload and the converted Markdown/images. Usage data: conversion job metadata (file name, page count, timestamps) needed to operate quotas. Payment data: handled entirely by our merchant of record Creem; we never see or store your card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

Solely to provide the Service: converting your documents, enforcing quotas, processing payments, and responding to support requests. We do not sell your data or use your documents to train AI models.

3. Document Processing & Retention

Uploaded PDFs are sent to Mistral AI's OCR API for conversion and are not retained by Mistral after processing. On our storage, uploaded PDFs are automatically deleted within 1 day and converted outputs within 7 days. Account and billing records are kept as long as your account exists.

4. Third-Party Processors

We rely on: Cloudflare (hosting, storage), Clerk (authentication), Mistral AI (OCR processing), and Creem (payments, as merchant of record). Each processes data only as needed to provide their function.

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
